  Company Overview
Ralph Eisenhuth John Tanner
Been with B&B Since 1988
hen John Tanner steps out of his house, he can't help but keep an eye peeled for fabricated metal. "I'll be going out to a restaurant," he says "and I'll see a handrail. I'll have to stop and look at it, check it for quality control, and start picking on it. My wife gets on me for that." Hired as a welder, (he has a welding degree from Airco) John was just nineteen years old when he first stepped foot into B&B. Over the thirteen years he's worked here, John's moved into laying out and fitting. He's a whiz with the submerged arc welding machine. He spent almost one year welding on the Norfolk Naval Pier job.

"I love what I do," John says. "I just like making things. I like building stuff." And that's exactly what you want in a welder. John takes immense pride in his work. It's not uncommon for John to take a drive on a Saturday and show his wife his work. He takes pictures of the buildings and bridges and piers he's worked on and shows them to his grandparents. "I look at the buildings," he says "And I say, 'Yeah, I did that.'"

John's a big fan of the B&B 4th of July fishing trip.
